OUR STORY

First incorporated in 2012, Girls4Girls Charitable Association is a Vancouver-based non-profit that supports initiatives both locally and globally. It all started with Robyn Gooding; native to South Africa, she witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of gender-based violence in her home country. Upon moving to Canada at 12 years old, she realized that this problem is prevalent on a global scale throughout a variety of cultures and societies. With a firm belief that every woman deserves a choice and a voice, Robyn found some of Vancouver’s finest like-minded ladies and gents to join her cause. The new team understood the place that preconceived gender roles play in these situations of violence, rape and emotional abuse, thus enabling them to target the root of the issue.

We at Girls4Girls knew immediately that we had stumbled across a conversation that could not be ignored – one that has the power to change lives and change the world.

Bringing men into the discussion has been vital in supporting female empowerment from the perspective of both halves of the population and brings us one step closer to global gender equality. We love our Guys4Girls!

Today our goal is to connect with women and men across the world, spreading empowerment and support to all those affected along the way.
